Sustainability

We work with communities to restore ecosystems, protect endemic species, improve soil health, and revive traditional uses of medicinal and aromatic plants. Each action strengthens ecological and climate resilience while creating sustainable local value chains.

Through large-scale reforestation, watershed protection, and biodiversity conservation, this program integrates nature-based solutions with carbon sequestration and cultivated biodiversity. All interventions are aligned with national strategies and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

Climate Action

We develop regenerative farming systems that combine trees, crops, and livestock, supported by responsible water and soil management. Our climate-smart farms and nurseries serve as hubs for training, experimentation, and seedling production.

These farms supply seedlings for reforestation, diversify local agriculture, and offer hands-on training for eco-entrepreneurs. The program embeds agroforestry, carbon finance, and circular resource management to strengthen long-term climate resilience.

Social Economy

We strengthen the role of women, youth, and cooperatives by providing training, certification, and access to green value chains. Our initiatives support social enterprises that reinforce territorial cohesion and civic participation.

By connecting local groups to sustainable markets—including MAP, agroforestry, and ecotourism—the program ensures equitable sharing of benefits and long-term community ownership over environmental initiatives.

Nexus Link: Social inclusion becomes a driver of environmental sustainability and fair carbon benefit distribution.

Community Dialogue

We recognize culture and collective memory as pillars of sustainability. This program protects local knowledge related to land, water, plants, and community practices—while fostering intergenerational and intercultural dialogue.

Through documentation, transmission, and community-led cultural initiatives, the Foundation promotes traditional ecological knowledge, artistic heritage, and storytelling as tools for social cohesion and collective resilience.

Future Model

By 2030, BDA Horizons aims to position Morocco as a reference for development models where nature, culture, and the economy mutually reinforce one another.

Impact Targets:

  • Thousands of hectares of ecosystems restored
  • Water access secured in rural areas
  • Eco-entrepreneurs trained and certified
  • Traditional knowledge and cultural heritage preserved
  • Stronger community dialogue and social cohesion

These results will establish BDA Horizons as a key actor of ecological and cultural transition in Africa.
